Genuine Crocodylus Siamensis Leather · Handcrafted · Polished Steel Buckle

The BELTLEY Artisan Black Crocodile Leather Belt is made from 100% genuine Siamese crocodile skin (Crocodylus Siamensis) — a species prized in luxury leather goods for its tighter, more refined scale pattern compared to Nile or alligator hides. The jet black finish is sleek and enduringly versatile, working equally well with a tailored suit, dress trousers, or premium denim.

At 35mm (1.38 inches) wide, this belt sits at the ideal width for both formal and upscale casual belt loops — narrow enough for dress wear, substantial enough to anchor a casual look. Backed by premium Japanese oak leather and finished with a polished stainless steel buckle, every detail is built to last.

Why Siamese Crocodile Leather?

Crocodylus Siamensis — the Siamese crocodile — produces one of the most refined exotic leathers available. Its scales are tighter and more symmetrical than those of larger crocodilian species, giving the finished leather a denser, more intricate texture. This is the species used in some of the world's most exclusive leather ateliers. Each hide carries a naturally unique pattern — no two belts are identical.

Backed by Japanese oak leather, the base layer adds structure and breathability that synthetic backings cannot match. Japanese oak vegetable tanning is a slow, traditional process that produces leather with greater fiber density, meaning the belt holds its shape and ages gracefully rather than stiffening or cracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What species of crocodile is this belt made from?

This belt uses genuine Siamese crocodile (Crocodylus Siamensis) leather. This species is known for its tighter, more refined scale pattern compared to Nile crocodile or American alligator, and is a preferred material in high-end exotic leather goods.

What is Japanese oak leather?

Japanese oak leather is vegetable-tanned using tannins derived from Japanese oak trees (Quercus acutissima). The process produces a dense, breathable leather with natural suppleness and long-term durability. It is used as a backing layer to give structure and comfort from the inside of the belt.

Is this belt unisex?

Yes. The 35mm (1.38 inch) width is a versatile proportion that works for both men's and women's trouser and jean belt loops. The jet black color and polished buckle are designed to be gender-neutral and outfit-agnostic.

What outfits does this belt work with?

The 35mm width fits standard dress trouser loops and most casual trouser loops. It pairs well with tailored suits, business trousers, chinos, and premium denim. The polished steel buckle complements silver and mixed-metal accessories.

What size should I order?

Measure an existing belt from the center of the buckle pin to the hole you currently use. Order that length. Alternatively, add 2 inches to your trouser waist size for a standard fit.

Is this belt covered by a warranty?

Yes. Every BELTLEY belt comes with a 10-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use — one of the longest warranties offered on any exotic leather belt.

WARRANTY: BELTLEY 10-Year Promise of Lasting Quality. See The Warranty FAQ Here.

Note: FULL grain leather may show slight marks or variations—this is a sign of authenticity.

  1. Because the surface of full-grain leather retains the natural texture of the animal skin, it is inevitable that there will be some naturally occurring scars.
  2. The surface of full-grain leather has natural wrinkles and blood streaks, etc. However, even the best leather will inevitably have knife marks and scars from processing. Additionally, the thickness of different parts of a piece of leather is uneven, especially around the neck and belly, where the leather tends to be looser and have more wrinkles.
  3. Due to the different positions of the leather, and the different growth environments of the animals, the density of the leather's fibers will vary, and the degree of firmness and elasticity will also differ.
  4. Natural wrinkles, textures, and slight scars are normal characteristics of full-grain leather.
